Instructions to report a lost or found pet are below:

Our team has been building a real time app to report lost and found pets in Chennai city. So many pets go missing every day and the Chennai Floods has let to many pets getting frightened and running away in fear. Our tool has forms that you can use to report a lost pet or a found pet and all data would be populated on a real time map of Chennai city. This tool will be enchanced based on end user feedback.

PET FINDER TOOL

Reporting a Lost Pet

  •   Go to thePET FINDER TOOL and view the list of lost(red) and found(green) pet pins on Chennai map.
  •   Click on 'Report Pet' at the top tool bar.
  •   In the 'Pet Details Form', select 'I lost a pet' and fill in other details of the lost pet.
  •   Enter the most accurate address possible in the 'Pet Location' and ensure that the pin falls on the right spot in the map.
  •   Make sure to upload the most recent photo of the lost pet.
  •   Add additional details in 'More Details' that would help uniquely identify your pet, such as 'black patch on forehead' etc.
  •   Enter your contact details so that you can be reached easily by someone who may spot your pet.
  •   Click on 'Submit'. A red colored pin with letter 'L'(stands for Lost) should now appear in the map.
  •   Click on the pin and you should be able to see details of your lost pet you just reported.
  • Reporting a Found Pet

  •   Go to thePET FINDER TOOL and view the list of lost(red) and found(green) pet pins on Chennai map.
  •   Click on 'Report Pet' at the top tool bar.
  •   In the 'Pet Details Form', select 'I found a pet' and fill in other details of the found pet.
  •   Enter the most accurate address possible in the 'Pet Location' and ensure that the pin falls on the right spot in the map.
  •   Make sure to upload the picture of found pet.
  •   Add additional details in 'More Details' that would help uniquely identify the pet, such as 'black patch on forehead' etc.
  •   Enter your contact details so that you can be reached easily by someone who may be the owner of the pet or know the pet.
  •   Click on 'Submit'. A green colored pin with letter 'F' (stands for Found) should now appear in the map.
  •   Click on the pin and you should be able to see details of the pet you just reported.
  • Other Instructions

  •   Please be on the lookout for new lost and found pets in the map and if they are in and around your area, help search for the owner and pets.
  •   Look at the map and try to find if any of the found pets look familar. If so, get in touch with us and we will put you in touch with the owner
  •   Share the map widely using hashtag #ChennaiAnimalWelfare and either #LostPet or #FoundPet.
